Whether you’re already involved in building a home based business or thinking about starting one you’re guaranteed to face times of frustrations and great challenges. Especially in the beginning stages of the game is the time when it is most likely to happen. The nature of being an entrepreneur makes us face our biggest doubts and fears about ourselves.
What happens if you persist and work through the challenges you face is you will see progress and results. You will get out of your comfort zone and grow as an individual. I know that has happened many times in my life and in my business. There has been times in my life when I just wanted to give up but I kept going.
I remember a few years back I was a single mom, going to school taking my bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and I was also working part time to support myself and my daughter. I use to get up at 5 a.m. in the morning to get ready for the day, drop my daughter off to daycare, then go to my classes, and then after school rush off to pick her up. Once we get home I’d be spending time with her and doing house work and getting her ready for bed. Once she went to bed I would be doing readings and assignments until usually 11 p.m. or midnight. Then I’d go to bed exhausted and just to get up and do it all over again the next day. Weekends were not that much different, because I’d work at a part time job. I did that for four years.
Looking back though I learned a great deal about myself and what it meant to be committed, disciplined and persistent. By the end of it I had a career that I enjoyed and loved and that also allowed me the flexibility and freedom to pursue a home based business. It was a stepping stone for the next phase of my life – entrepreneurship.
Today I’m truly thankful to be living in a free country and to be living my dreams. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to be involved in the program I’m in and to be associated with the group of entrepreneurs’ I work with.
